    Harkirit Mudhar

    Superintendent Pharmacist
    Pharmacy Team
    Hi, I’m Harkirit...

...and I’m the Superintendent Pharmacist here at Vyne. Whilst studying for my A Levels I discovered my passion for pharmacy. I also always wanted to work in a role where I could care for and help others so becoming a pharmacist was the logical step. Since qualifying, my roles have varied between management in retail pharmacies both in England and abroad, and working within GP practices and aesthetic clinics.

So what do you like to do outside of Vyne?

Outside of work I really enjoy travelling and exploring the world (once we’re allowed again).

...and I’m the Pharmacy Dispenser here at Vyne (the first one, I might add!). I’ve now worked in pharmacy for over 6 years and couldn’t be happier with the path I chose.

And what do you like to do when you're not working?

Outside of work I’m a bit of a hobby chef and can’t wait until I’ll be able to go out with friends again.

    Valerie Ward

    Head of Nursing
    Nurses Team
    Hi, I’m Valerie...

...and I’m the Head of Nursing here at Vyne. Having worked as a District Nurse Team Leader for several years I undertook the Management of incontinence course and promotion of continence course to improve the care that I delivered to patients with bladder and bowel dysfunction in the community.

This began my interest in the continence & urology field that has stayed with me for over 20 years as I am passionate that we deliver the highest quality care to our patients.

I was appointed Continence Advisor and then Continence service manager in the community managing one of the largest continence teams in the country at that time and was very honoured to be awarded the title of Queens Nurse in 2008 for raising standards in the service and changing practice.

In 2012 I joined Rochester medical as a clinical Nurse Specialist and began my career as a commercial nurse. This allowed me to develop and go on to manage commercial nursing teams as the need for NHS services to work in partnership with companies grows to ensure patients are seen in a timely manner by people with the right skills to deliver the care.

How do you like to keep up-to date with everything nursing related?

I remain an active member of the Association of Continence Advice attending national and local study days to maintain my knowledge and skills.

    Mandy Mundy

    Clinical Lead Urology Nurse Specialist
    Nurses Team
    Hi, I’m Mandy...

...and I’m the Clinical Lead Urology Nurse Specialist here at Vyne. I qualified as a Registered Nurse in 1992 at the Wirral and Chester School of Nursingand Midwifery at the Countess of Chester Hospital. I then worked in Wirral Hospital for 10 years on surgical wards looking after patients with a variety of urological conditions and during this time was promoted to senior staff nurse.

I returned to Chester in 2002 where I was staff nurse on the surgical day care unit for 4 years before successfully applying for the role of Clinical Nurse Specialist in Urology.

I spent 12 years as a Clinical Nurse Specialist where I developed my expertise in urological and continence assessment and diagnostics and played a major part in the planning of care for patients with urological cancers. I have always maintained a passion for urological nursing where my special interests were in self-catheterisation, urodynamic investigations and painful bladder clinics. I also planned and delivered hospital staff teaching sessions for catheterisation and catheter care.

In May 2018, I joined ConvaTec as a Urology Nurse Specialist working for the Amcare Nursing Service. I see patients in the Lancashire, Merseyside, Cheshire, Staffordshire and Shropshire areas. I take referrals from both the NHS and private sector and can review patients in their own homes, care homes and within the clinic or hospital environment.

What do you enjoy most about your work at Vyne?

I am passionate about my role and delivering the highest quality care to make a positive difference to my patients.

    Emma Bailey

    Clinical Nurse Specialist
    Nurses Team
    Hi, I’m Emma...

...and I’m a Clinical Nurse Specialist here at Vyne. I originally qualified as an adult nurse in 1995 at DeMontfort University, Leicester.  I worked in theatre recovery and anaesthetics for 5 years and studied for a BA (Hons) in Nursing Studies. I was then promoted to Practice Development Nurse for theatres for University Hospitals of Leicester. In 2003 I trained as a health visitor gaining a BSc (hons) in Community Health Nursing and I worked as a family health visitor for 12 years in the county of Leicestershire. During this time, I studied for a Master’s Degree in Practice Education. In 2016 I worked as a clinical trainer for Leicestershire Partnership NHS Trust training and assessing social care workers to undertake delegated health tasks.

What sparked your interest in urology?

During my nursing career, I have been involved in inserting indwelling urinary catheters and monitoring fluid balance in the operating theatres. I have promoted continence in the under 5s and with new mothers as a Health Visitor. As a clinical trainer, I have taught and assessed care workers to monitor fluid intake and output and care of patients with continence problems. This has led to my interest in urology.

In July 2018, I joined Convatec as a Urology Nurse Specialist working for the Amcare nursing service. I see patients in the East Midlands region. I am a member of the Royal College of Nursing (RCN), Association of Continence Advisors (ACA) and the British Association of Urology Nurses (BAUN).

And what do you love most about being a nurse?

What I really love about being a nurse is being able to meet new people and make a positive difference to my patients’ lives!

    Lauren Brown

    Urology Nurse Specialist
    Nurses Team
    Hi I'm Lauren...

... and I’m one of the Urology Nurse Specialists here at Vyne. I qualified as a Registered Nurse in 2015 at the University of East Anglia in Norwich. I then worked at the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital on various wards specialising in many different areas. I first found my love for Urology on a Surgical Urology ward at the NNUH where I became a senior staff nurse.

I fell in love with the speciality finding particular interests in post-operative care and Urology Oncology support. After a few years of working within the acute surgical sector I decided to further my Urology experience and knowledge and this is where I joined ConvaTec as a Urology Nurse Specialist working for the Amcare Nursing Service. While working within this role I saw patients in Norfolk, Suffolk and Cambridgeshire areas. I took referrals from both the NHS and private sector and reviewed patients in their own homes, care homes and within the clinic or hospital environment.

After almost two years working in the community I decided to re-join the acute trust at the NNUH as the Clinical Lead For Nurse Bank, along with an incredible team we supported all clinical Bank staff while working for the trust, providing clinical and non-clinical support. I soon realised I missed working within Urology and that need for patient contact, I decided to join my old team at Vyne! I have not looked back since and am so happy to been working back in a speciality where as a team we can help those within the community and acute settings.

What do you love most about being a nurse?

I have always wanted to make a difference and by being a nurse I feel I can positively impact patients lives even if that is just making a quick phone call to a patient or helping to support a multidisciplinary team in making that care extra special. Having the time to do this and being in a position as a registered nurse to be able to give this care really does make being a nurse truly incredible and a real privilege!
